Prof. Mingjie Zhang and his research team published a paper in the journal Cell, titled “Reconstituted postsynaptic density as a molecular platform for understanding synapse formation and plasticity”. This paper has recently been selected as one of the “Best Of Cell 2018” research article collections to showcase this past year’s most exciting cell biology research.
Our LIFS faculties won two of the seven awards presented by the Croucher Foundation this year. They are Dr. NGUYEN Tuan Anh, Assistant Professor of the Division of Life Science, who received the Croucher Innovation Awards 2018, and Prof. WEN Zilong, Professor of Division of Life Science, who received the Croucher Senior Research Fellowship 2019.
This campus visit brought closer together The D. H. Chen Foundation and LIFS. The event, new to LIFS’ calendar, provided an opportunity for LIFS to showcase the achievements of our students and staff as well as our research and teaching environment.
The School Teaching, Research and Service Awards are given annually to Science faculty members at all levels and teaching track faculty for their outstanding teaching and service contributions.
Quanhua Mu, Yiyun Chen, Biaobin Jiang, and Yoonhee Nam from Prof. Jiguang Wang's lab have integrated sequencing data from not only the public literature but also a number of newly collected cases by Dr. Tao Jiang's team from Beijing Neurosurgical Institute and Beijing Tiantan Hospital, and uncovered the mutational landscape of secondary glioblastoma (sGBM) in East Asian cohort. This systematic...Read More
Dr. Menglong Zeng and Mr. Xudong Chen, a postdoctoral fellow and a Ph.D. student, from Prof. Mingjie Zhang’s lab have made a ground-breaking discovery showing phase transition-mediated formation excitatory postsynaptic density condensates revealed by biochemical reconstitution approaches. The paper was published in the Aug. 23, 2018 issue of Cell. This is a continuation of their Read More
