The D. H. Chen Foundation was founded in 1970 by Dr. Din Hwa Chen.
Driven by his vision, The D. H. Chen Foundation Life Science Scholarship was established and launched in 2015. The Scholarship aims to nurture future leaders who will bring about positive social change through combining their intellect, motivation and compassion.
You can apply for a D. H. Chen Foundation Life Science Scholarship if you:
are a student in the Division of Life Science AND
are a year 2 local or non-local undergraduate student who has completed a full year of study, including both Fall and Spring Terms AND
have obtained CGA of 3.50 or above as of Spring/Summer Term in the latest academic year.

What’s on offer?
The awards are available to year 2 undergraduate students:
8 to 10 awardees with HKD 10,000 each, tenable for two years.
In the recipient’s year 3 of study, the scholarship is renewable if the awardee:
has attained CGA of 3.50 or above in year 2 AND
has enrolled in a research enrichment project recognized by LIFS for a duration of at least 3 months during the course of study at HKUST
The University’s Scholarship Committee will select awardees based on academic performance with endorsement from Undergraduate Coordinator and Division Head in the Fall Term of nominee’s year 2 of study
